In the wake of a devastation, the world reels from the aftermath of the Maladictus Virus, a harrowing plague that has plunged cities into darkness and despair by reanimating the dead. Originating from the desolate expanses of the Arctic, where it lay dormant, this malevolent pathogen was believed to have been excavated, studied and unleashed, causing an unprecedented horror upon humanity.

As chaos reigned, whispers of Helix Inc., a pharmaceutical company had the shadowy ties to the virus's origins. With each passing day, the virus's insidious influence grows, birthing grotesque mutations that defy comprehension.

Among these reanimated aberrations "Vampires," undead beings of unparalleled cunning and bloodlust, whose presence casts a pall of fear over the ravaged landscape. Yet, even darker rumors swirl of more mutation, hairy beasts and other rarer creatures have been seen in Grime City.

In the face of this escalating crisis, Leviathan, a privatized military force, descends to enforce quarantine upon the afflicted regions. Trapped within the confines of Grime City, its inhabitants are left to fend for themselves disconnected from the outside world, their fates entwined with the relentless march of the undead.

Amidst the chaos and despair, you find yourself thrust into a world where survival is not guaranteed. Whether human, undead, or vampire, your destiny is bound to the fate of Grime City, where escape is but a distant dream, and the chances of escape are still unknown.
As one of the remaining scraps of Humanity, you will face all the horrors of the end times; The ravenous, sneaky undead. The treacherous, shadowy vampires. And even other ill-aligned Humans!

Using skills such as building barricades, hiding effectively and mastering the intricacies of combat, the ingenuity and determination of Humanity can shine forth! A multitude of weapons await your choosing, from the mundane to the insane! Firearms for traditionalists and all the instruments of pain you’d come to expect to find (or craft) when Hell has risen once more. Perseverance of the self is key, but Humans have always thrived best when working together. Thanks to a special serum created by Helix Pharmaceuticals, Humans have a better chance than ever against the impossible.

From living in caves, to flying in space, Humans have done it all. This is but another trial for humanity to clear. Come what may.
As the Undead, you will feast upon both all those foolish enough to cross your path, Humans and Vampires alike.

A multitude of tools to slaughter your victims are at your disposal, such as infecting your prey, hiding amongst corpses, and even using failed revivals of your own body to your advantage are but a few toys in your ghoulish bag of tricks.

Whenever a human in particular dies by your hand, they will become an Undead! Misery loves company! Swarming, horde tactics as well as sneaky ambushes are encouraged for Undead players.

But watch your back! Treachery is always afoot among the deathless, but The Rot provides, and you can utilize your curse as a protective blanket in various away to help ward off such inevitable skullduggery.
As a Vampire, Humans are below you and are your primary desired source of prey. The revolting Undead, however are your direct competition.

Your hauntingly daunting skills include shrugging off a percentage of all damage, attacking from a feigned death, and increasing your power as your killing spree grows.

The blood of your enemies shall flow and so too shall your power! Make the shadows your cloak and your fangs your sword as you cleanse Grime City of its lesser life forms. The world is ours to inherit but first, we must shape it from the filthy ashes of its current state. You are a natural born hunter, and urban jungle, your rightful domain.

All Out Hell is a massively multiplayer online browser based game.

After some testing, running the numbers, and seeing how everything works out with the larger AP caps, the Admin have decided to lower the caps something more near what they were originally. This change has already rolled out, and you will see the results immediately.

First, why we did this. Originally, the idea was to give people higher AP caps so players who have lives can enjoy the game with more success than players who are able to check the game every hour or so. Like people with jobs, or people who need to sleep. The idea behind it was good, but the game wasn't designed to handle these large AP bursts - as I'm sure many of you noticed.

The larger AP cap completely negated barricades, and made the gameplay more bursty and less cozy. Barricades could be removed in an instant by a single player, as well as be put up in an instant right after killing a player. This felt unfair to both sides. Buildings would go from decimated to repaired, and visa versa, so fast that nobody had a chance to respond or call for reinforcements. A solo player was able to do too much, too fast.

The AP levels have been adjusted to 80 if you're a human, 60 if you are not. This is closer to what they were previously, but still slightly higher. The admin have discussed these numers for a while, and feel that it's a good place to stettle at. We're hopeful that we wont need to make changes to this value going forward, and you guys can get comfortable with the current limitations.

Thank you all for your understanding as we work at balancing this game further, and going forward into what this game has to offer. As it gets more complex, and it will, there will be much more balancing changes to be made. The goal is to make each class feel as good as any other class, they should be destroying the class they counter, while having a miserable time with the class that counters them. We will keep working until we achieve this goal!

And as always, keep complaining in the various channels. We are listening, we do take note of them, and we will make changes if your complaints are justified.

Thank you all, and don't forget to brush your teeth!

Two big things:

AP limits are being adjusted for all classes. Zombie and Vampire AP cap will be set to 100, while Humans will sit a bit above them at 120. I could explain why here, but I think a back and forth discussion is more viable, so please, if you have any questions let them be known in general! That's in discord, for those reading this on the website.

ANNOUNCEMENT DOS

Not as exciting, but the game now has various protections against some things. Most notably, it will detect if you use automated software to reload the web page. Using any sort of automated software on the game is against the rules. If detected, you will be locked out of your account for 10 minutes, doubling per detect, and the timer only starts once the game detects that you've stopped using your software.

Additionally, the game will now throttle your loads and set your requests to the lowest priority if you've hit about 30 Hours of server load time per week. This is a free game, and we all must do our parts to share the resources. Those who cannot, will face notably longer load times as the game handles everyone else's requests first. This feature has actually been in the game for a little while now, a week or so, and I've been watching it closely. Don't worry too much about this if you're a current player, as only one user has ever hit the threshold, while the rest of you haven't even gotten even half way close to hitting it. You're all fine.

As a trial run, this weekend Im activating (near) realtime updates for the events, discussion and map panels. Ill be watching the server load, and if it gets too crap, I will roll back this update or make adjustments.

Currently, due to limitations on the engine, the inventory panel (including ap, hp, and exp) and description panel with the menus there will not update. The current design doesn't like when I push updates to drop down menus. This may just be how it be if/until I update the whole interface.

If you notice any fuckiness, please report them in the bugs reports channel (on discord for those reading this on front page.)

Misses are now noticed by the people you're swinging at, be careful with those swings. ;)
